Monthly Meanderings: February round up. Fancy a walk?

A lovely couple of walks to recommend this month. It's a short month that has mainly been filled with familiar, local walks. I've spent a lot of time on the Leeds Liverpool Canal but it has been lovely to get a bit further afield with the two walks mentioned below.

One of the walks mentioned, Marske to Saltburn, I've done many times (and recommended it before) but it is my favourite walk so it gets another mention - it really is a joy. The other walk was completely new to me though we walked the Dales Way many years ago so had visited Burnsall and the surrounding area.

Marske to Saltburn and back along the beach - 5 miles

Although it is possible to walk from lots of different points along the stray between Redcar and Marske, we like to start from the carpark across the road from Outwood Academy, Bydales. It is free to park but you do need to collect a ticket from the machine and there is a time limit to prevent campervans staying overnight. There is often a fabulous coffee van if you choose to park at the next carpark towards Redcar - Headland Espresso .

To do the walk, take a path to the beach and head right towards Saltburn - you will see the pier as you walk. Once there, there are toilets, places to eat and grab a drink, as well as all the fun you might expect from a seaside town.

Burnsall - Linton Falls Circuit - 6.5 miles

A gorgeous, varied walk of gentle hills, fabulous views, stile climbing, bridge crossing and river-path walking. Parking and refreshments in Burnsall but it does get busy! Navigation is easy and you get a beautiful walk.

A similar walk can be found here though we didn't head to Grassington this time.

Where did you get to this month? Why not comment below? Happy Walking! ❤️
