Autumn update - Reset and Recharge
Since early Summer, I have been enjoying training as a mentor for new practitioners. I love sharing TRE®, an accessible and incredibly supportive practice, and being part of the training of a wonderful group of people who want to do that too. Recently, I have also had some interesting conversations with Elizabeth from the Dear Academy about how we support children to build confidence and learn within a context of self-regulation and nervous system support. I'm excited to see where these conversations go.
Autumn is a fabulous time for a reset. The evenings are darker and life is often slower once the back to school/work routines are settled after the Summer. I've always been a fan of hygge, the Scandinavian idea of cosiness, and TRE® can be a wonderful part of this.
In both Danish and Norwegian, hygge refers to "a form of everyday togetherness", "a pleasant and highly valued everyday experience of safety, equality, personal wholeness and a spontaneous social flow".
The noun hygge includes something nice, cosy, safe and known, referring to a psychological state. The Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen has studied the positive effect of hygge on Danish society.
Collins English Dictionary defines the word as "a concept, originating in Denmark, of creating cosy and convivial atmospheres that promote wellbeing".
The season can give us a chance to look inwards and support our nervous system - safety and social engagement are central tenets of TRE®. Regulating the nervous system through shaking provides good news for the body. It can help with sleep, relationships, pain and the symptoms of stress, anxiety, trauma and tension. Once you learn how to do TRE, you can do it for yourself - wherever and whenever you like! It is the ultimate in self-help flexibility. Why not give it a try this Autumn?

Autumn TRE® with Kate offers:
Monthly workshops at We are Wellness - These 90 minute workshops (for up to 8 people) allow you to explore what TRE® is and immerse yourself in the practice. These workshops are perfect if you are experiencing TRE® for the first time, if you have previously practised but have had a break or are currently practising by yourself and would like someone to hold the space for you whilst you deepen your practice. They fill quickly so be quick! You can book here. October and November workshops still to come this year.
Weekly one-to-one sessions at We are Wellness - These are currently on Thursdays and give you an opportunity to explore TRE® in supported and safe way that is truly focused on you. These sessions are perfect if you are reticent about joining a group straight away or really want to explore your responses to TRE® due to previous or current stresses and/or trauma. These can be booked here.
Weekly small group sessions on Wednesdays (9.30-10.30) at Slim Fit Life in Horsforth - Typically, these sessions involve 6 or fewer participants with a range of experience of TRE®. Individual attention is given within the group based on needs, for example whether someone is newer to TRE® or has been practising longer and is looking to explore interventions to change or deepen their tremoring. There is a community price of £10 per session and these can be booked directly with me by email: kate@trewithkate.co.uk.

Also look out for:
- Free taster sessions - These sessions (individual or group) give you a perfect opportunity to see what TRE® is all about and meet me before making a financial commitment. Get in touch for more info!
- Pop Ups - Over the next few months, I'll be looking to run some of these following the successful workshop at Café Yoga earlier in the year.
